Senator Joe Scarnati is
currently serving his second term representing the residents
of the 25th District, which include all or parts of Warren,
McKean, Potter, Tioga, Cameron, Elk, Clearfield and
Jefferson Counties.
On January 2, 2007, Joe was sworn in as
President Pro Tempore of the Pennsylvania Senate; the third
highest constitutional office in the State. Since being
sworn in, he has been a leader in reforming the way business
is conducted in the Senate and remains committed to making
the institution more open and accessible to the citizens of
the Commonwealth.
He is also taking on many important
issues such as reducing job crushing taxes, eliminating
benefits to illegal aliens, and overall cutting the cost of
government in Pennsylvania.
Joe is a
native of Brockway in Jefferson County and a lifelong
resident of the 25th District. After graduating from Penn
State University at DuBois, Joe became a third generation
business owner in the Brockway area. He also carried on the
lifelong tradition of working to better his community
through involvement and civic leadership, serving on both
the Brockway Borough Council and the Jefferson County
Development Council.
Joe enjoys
spending time with his three children Lisa, Kelly, and
Michael.
